This Sunday's service began with the Psalm 4, the Gloria Patri and the hymn of praise was "Easter People, Raise Your Voices." The Junior church members did the reading as a special presentation. There was special music: a violin solo performed by Grant Blanton and a song by Carol Scott, the mother of Reverend Scott.

Sharon Chenoweth gave a special presentation about her mission trip in February with the Jackson Area Ministries. Sharon showed us pictures of the work her team did in gutting 4 homes that had been damaged by Hurricane Katrina. She described the situation in New Orleans, and the work left to be done there. Sharon gave strands of beads from Mardi Gras to the children, and gave an extra strand of beads to the children with instructions to give these to someone in the church they didn't know, and ask them to be their friend.

The sermon today was continuing the theme "Alive through Christ."

2Ti 4:1
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2Ti 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2Ti 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Ti 4:4
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2Ti 4:5
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

2Ti 4:6
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

2Ti 4:7
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

2Ti 4:8
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Pastor Robbie said these may have been the last words written by Paul.

Re 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Re 14:13
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Pastor Robbie said we should proclaim Christ loudly, and in this way we will be sure to "die well." That means we can be sure the Kingdom of God awaits us when we depart from this world.

The closing hymn was "Lift High the Cross."
