This Sunday service began with the Gloria Patri and the hymn of praise was "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee." We had words of joy and testimony, and special music by Louanna Rhonemus.

The theme of the sermon was Waiting By the Well.

Joh 4:38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

Joh 4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

Joh 4:40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

Joh 4:41 And many more believed because of his own word;

Joh 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

Pastor Dan challenged us to break from our normal patterns, our habits and routines. He showed us on a map that Jesus broke away from the normal course of travel in order to go through Samaria. His disciples were willing to follow him, but when they saw him talking to the woman at the well, they were shocked. The woman had come during the heat of the day, alone, because she was an outcast in her society. But Jesus even went so far as to drink from her cup. The woman's enthusiasm brought many people to see Jesus, and led to many conversions.

Pastor Dan said that God wants us to be in a relationship with Him, but sometimes we must be willing to break away from our normal routine. How much do we miss because of being set in our ways?

The closing hymn was "Blessed Assurance."
